Weekend in Warsaw for Qt training

After not having much contact with Qt during the last months,
I decided to enter a new Nokia training in Warsaw. Qt for N8 and Symbian^3 devices.
Actually, the platform was not the most important point of the conference since you could do testing with Symbian S60 3rd edition, Maemo or the N8s provided by Forum Nokia to test in site.

The training consisted in two days, first one for beginners in Qt developing, more focused on just explaining what Qt is and how it interacts with different platforms, and second one more focused on advanced functionalities of Qt.

I have to say that the platform really improved from last time I had contact with it last year December in Copenhagen. Deploying for Maemo 5 was much more tedious that it is right now. And, apart from that, deploying for desktop, Symbian S60, Symbian^3 and Maemo, is really transparent for the Qt developer.

I think that all the effort that Nokia is putting on the Qt platform will bloom probably when the MeeGo platform will start using all the knowledge of the people who are developing for Qt right now.
But nothing can be assured, since Android and iOS are also going forward.
Let's see what 2011 is going to end up with.
It seems to be an interesting war :)

Our balance

My habits change a bit since I started to work and the blog was excluded of my habits.
I really hope I can catch up now and keep blogging more often!

Just coming back from Scotland and having some conversations with my friend Virginia, currently living in Glasgow, I was willing to talk about a very important thing in life for everybody. Our balance.

Is it more important to go out with your friends that night?
Or on the other hand it is more important to stay with your couple?
Is the job the most important part of your life? Do you think that it deserves all the time that you dedicate to it? Or you should dedicate more effort and strength to the people, family and friends?

These are questions that from my point of view are not really easy to answer. And for each of us the answers are different.
There is where we have to find the balance that will make us feel happy, comfortable with what we do and towards people who are around us.

I hope you all are finding your balance and you are happy with it!
